Responsibilities
- Review and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical services
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers and track reimbursement status
- Investigate and resolve claim denials/rejections within 48 hours
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing documentation standards
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze denial trends
- Communicate effectively with providers and insurance representatives
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and Medicare/Medicaid
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expertise in CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines and billing compliance
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills for identifying billing discrepancies
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Remote work setup with reliable high-speed internet
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
