Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance providers using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Manage accounts receivable through follow-up on denied/underpaid claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Generate monthly reports on key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, Athenahealth, or NextGen EHR systems
