In this pivotal role, you will serve as the first line of defense for patients seeking medical guidance. You will utilize your clinical expertise to assess symptoms, determine the severity of conditions, and provide immediate care recommendations or facilitate referrals to appropriate providers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments via phone or secure video to determine the severity of symptoms and recommend appropriate care pathways.
- Evaluate incoming medical queries, triaging patients based on urgency and clinical guidelines.
- Document patient interactions accurately and in real-time within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff to ensure continuity of care and resolve complex patient issues.
- Provide health education and wellness advice to patients to promote self-management and prevent complications.
- Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and company telehealth protocols to ensure patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (or compact state eligibility).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a Triage, Urgent Care, or Telehealth environment.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations and convey complex medical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining high standards of professionalism and empathy.
