Responsibilities
- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Evaluate patient symptoms and medical history to determine the urgency of care and appropriate treatment pathways.
- Priority Triage: Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize incoming calls and patient visits, ensuring life-threatening conditions are addressed immediately.
- Provider Collaboration: Consult with physicians and advanced practice providers to facilitate prompt referrals and specialist consultations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting all triage interactions and clinical findings.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on self-care, medication management, and follow-up instructions to improve health outcomes.
- Workflow Optimization: Assist in streamlining the patient intake process to reduce wait times and improve overall clinic efficiency.
- Emergency Response: Act as a resource for emergency department protocols and escalate critical cases according to established protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Hawaii.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of acute care or emergency nursing experience.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively.
- Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills and the ability to make quick, evidence-based decisions under pressure.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable navigating Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical software.
