Responsibilities
- Personal Hygiene Assistance: Provide respectful and dignified support with bathing, grooming, dressing, and oral hygiene.
- Medication Reminders: Prompt clients to take medications at scheduled times and report any side effects or missed doses to the supervisor.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks that meet specific dietary requirements and preferences.
- Companionship & Activities: Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, reading, and light exercise to promote mental well-being.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and clean living environment by performing light cleaning, laundry, and dishwashing.
- Transportation Assistance: Accompany clients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social events.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and record blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or PCA (Patient Care Assistant) certification preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in geriatric care or home health is highly desirable.
- Driver's License: Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance are mandatory.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to listen actively.
- Compassion: A warm, patient, and empathetic personality is essential.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid certification.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
