Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS guidelines
- Verify insurance eligibility and resolve claim denials within 30 days
- Conduct thorough audits of patient accounts for compliance and accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians and insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation and electronic health records
- Generate monthly revenue reports for financial analysis
- Train junior billing staff on coding best practices
- Stay updated on CMS regulations and payer policy changes
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in Epic, eClinicalWorks, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
