Responsibilities
- Manage complex medical billing cycles across multiple insurance carriers with 95%+ accuracy
- Conduct thorough audits of EOBs and claim denials to identify reimbursement opportunities
- Optimize charge capture processes using Epic EMR and NextGen practice management systems
- Collaborate with physicians and coding teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and maintain strict patient data confidentiality
- Train junior billing staff on advanced coding and reimbursement strategies
- Analyze denial trends and implement process improvements to reduce accounts receivable
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding conventions
- Advanced proficiency in Epic EMR and NextGen systems
- Proven track record of reducing denial rates below 5%
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with RAC audits and Medicare Advantage billing
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred
