Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Conduct thorough claim audits and resolve billing discrepancies within 48 hours
- Manage denial analysis and implement corrective actions to reduce claim rejection rates
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports for leadership
- Maintain patient account balances and payment processing systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with 95%+ claim accuracy track record
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities for complex claim scenarios
- Experience with RCM analytics tools like Change Healthcare or Waystar
