Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service rendering
- Resolve claim denials and rejections with root-cause analysis
- Conduct regular audits for coding accuracy and compliance (HIPAA/ICD-10/CPT)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly revenue cycle performance reports
- Train junior billers on best practices and system updates
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial/Medicare/Medicaid
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Deep understanding of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding guidelines
- Proven track record in reducing AR days and denial rates
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial details
- Excellent communication skills for patient/payer interactions
