Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes for complex insurance claims
- Conduct regular audits of billing records to ensure compliance with HIPAA and CMS regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Optimize revenue cycle through analysis of billing metrics and KPIs
- Maintain patient account balances and resolve billing inquiries
- Stay current with evolving healthcare billing regulations and industry standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with claim scrubbers and denial management tools
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
