Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for complex procedures
- Conduct thorough claim audits and appeals for denials
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and insurance regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff for accurate documentation
- Manage accounts receivable and aging reports
- Train junior billing staff on coding and compliance
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with RCM systems
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credentials required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Epic or Athena EMR systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and documentation accuracy
