Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical claims for accuracy and completeness before submission to insurance payers.
- Manage the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration to final payment posting.
- Analyze claim denials and appeals to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance carriers, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.
- Utilize EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and clearinghouse software to process transactions.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal coding standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding within a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
