Responsibilities
- Accurately code and bill medical procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS systems
- Manage complex insurance claim submissions and appeals for major payers
- Analyze payment denials and implement corrective action strategies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and state billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain 99%+ clean claims ratio through rigorous quality checks
- Train junior billers on advanced coding techniques
- Optimize revenue cycle processes through data-driven analysis
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with 2+ in specialty billing
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance protocols
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Demonstrated success in reducing claim denial rates below 2%
- Strong analytical skills with attention to financial detail
- Experience with RCM analytics and performance reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
