Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain precise electronic health records and pharmacy documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care coordination
- Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy regulations and safety protocols
- Mentor junior pharmacy staff and train new technicians
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years of hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures preferred
- CPR certification required
