Responsibilities
- Dispense and verify medications with 100% accuracy following NYS Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Manage inventory control systems and coordinate pharmaceutical supply chains
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records and documentation
- Collaborate with pharmacists on sterile compounding and IV admixtures
- Train junior technicians on pharmacy protocols and safety procedures
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Current NYS Pharmacy Technician license with active status
- Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential required
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 standards
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
- Basic understanding of third-party billing procedures
