Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications with precision and accuracy under pharmacist supervision
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory and order supplies efficiently
- Prepare sterile compounds and IV admixtures following USP 797 guidelines
- Utilize pharmacy software for prescription processing and patient record management
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure strict compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and Texas State Board regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license required
- Minimum 2 years of retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Certification through PTCB or ExCPT preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Basic IV certification a plus
