Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision and accuracy
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain compliance with DEA, FDA, and NYS Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Utilimize pharmacy automation systems for efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Current NYS Pharmacy Technician certification required
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy compliance protocols
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Valid NYS driver's license preferred
