Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation following FDA guidelines
- Process insurance claims and assist with third-party billing systems
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records and electronic dispensing systems
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription discrepancies
- Prepare sterile compounds and chemotherapy preparations (when certified)
Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell, or Epic Rx)
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding procedures
