Responsibilities
- Accurately compound and dispense prescription medications following sterile protocols
- Verify prescription orders and patient information for compliance with FDA/DEA regulations
- Manage inventory control and automated dispensing systems
- Provide patient consultations on medication usage and potential interactions
- Train junior technicians on pharmacy software and safety procedures
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant electronic health records
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical initiatives and inventory optimization
Qualifications
- Active PTCB certification with minimum 2 years compounding experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 guidelines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Valid North Carolina pharmacy technician license
- Basic IV certification preferred
- Background check and drug screen required
