Responsibilities
- Dispense and verify prescription medications with 100% accuracy
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA
- Compound sterile and non-sterile preparations under pharmacist supervision
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software (Omni preferred)
- Train junior technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license
- 1+ years hospital pharmacy experience required
- CPhT certification through PTCB preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and pharmacology
