Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with precision, adhering to all state and federal regulatory standards.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and organizing pharmaceutical supplies to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers, answering inquiries regarding medication usage and side effects.
- Perform sterile compounding and aseptic techniques for injectable medications in our cleanroom environment.
- Assist pharmacists in processing insurance claims, verifying patient information, and conducting therapeutic drug monitoring.
- Maintain strict security protocols for controlled substances and narcotics, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Utilize advanced pharmacy automation systems and Electronic Health Records (EHR) to streamline workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required; valid Hawaii Pharmacy Technician license is mandatory.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting is required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, dosage calculations, and pharmacology.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic health record systems.
