Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and compound sterile/non-sterile preparations
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and adherence protocols
- Maintain controlled substance inventory and DEA compliance documentation
- Coordinate with healthcare providers regarding prescription clarifications
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians
- Implement inventory management systems and reorder protocols
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
- CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- High school diploma or equivalent required
