Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and maintain accurate patient records in pharmacy software systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Ensure compliance with federal and state pharmacy regulations (TDSHS, DEA)
- Train and mentor junior pharmacy technicians
- Perform quality control checks and maintain sterile compounding areas
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 2 years retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS1, Rx30)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and medication safety protocols
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Compounding experience preferred
