Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with exceptional precision
- Process and analyze specimens using advanced diagnostic equipment
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Train junior phlebotomists on best practices and new technologies
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment calibration
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians and lab scientists for specialized testing protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of phlebotomy experience in high-volume medical setting
- California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- BLS/CPR certification
- Expertise in handling difficult draws and pediatric patients
- Familiarity with LIS systems and laboratory automation
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with multiple priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient education and reassurance
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
