Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on diverse patient populations
- Process and transport specimens according to CLIA guidelines
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff
- Operate automated analyzers and point-of-care testing equipment
- Provide exceptional patient care and comfort during procedures
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills for challenging draws
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling requirements
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
- Valid CPR certification
