Responsibilities
- Perform advanced venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment (e.g., automated analyzers)
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and HIPAA regulations
- Manage specimen integrity throughout the testing workflow
- Conduct quality control audits and documentation reviews
- Collaborate with physicians and lab directors for complex cases
Qualifications
- 3+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- ASCP or NCCT certification required
- BLS/CPR certification (current)
- Proven expertise in pediatric and geriatric blood draws
- Strong knowledge of anatomical landmarks and vein mapping
- Exceptional patient communication and crisis management skills
- Experience with LIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Associates degree in Medical Technology preferred
