Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA compliance, OSHA standards, and sterile techniques
- Process and handle specimens with precision for laboratory analysis
- Provide compassionate patient care and clear communication during procedures
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and specimen documentation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient flow and efficiency
- Train junior phlebotomists on advanced techniques and protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent California license
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Expertise in handling difficult draws and pediatric/geriatric patients
- Strong knowledge of blood collection equipment and anticoagulants
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and patient-centered approach
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred
