Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and transport specimens following strict CLIA and OSHA protocols
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Implement quality control measures for sample integrity
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to optimize workflow efficiency
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or diagnostic lab setting
- Certification from a nationally accredited program (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Proven track record in difficult vein access techniques
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume environments
- Current CPR certification and negative TB test
- Valid Missouri phlebotomy license
