Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide comprehensive assistance to surgeons during procedures, anticipating needs and ensuring optimal workflow.
- Pre-Operative Prep: Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies according to established protocols.
- Instrument Management: Count and inspect instruments before and after procedures to ensure sterility and accuracy.
- Patient Care: Assist with patient positioning, draping, and transport to and from the operating suite.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures, supplies used, and patient observations.
- Infection Control: Adhere strictly to aseptic techniques and hospital infection control policies.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization processes.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with medical staff and patients.
