Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency department arrivals based on clinical urgency
- Perform comprehensive initial assessments including vital signs, medical history, and symptom analysis
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency procedures
- Monitor department workflow and implement triage protocols during high-volume periods
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer review processes
Qualifications
- Current Louisiana RN license with minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- BSN or higher degree preferred
- ENPC or TNCC certification required
- Strong clinical assessment skills with ability to make rapid decisions
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments
