Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and determine acuity levels in emergency settings
- Coordinate with physicians to establish immediate treatment protocols for high-priority cases
- Oversee triage team operations during peak hours and critical incidents
- Develop and implement departmental triage protocols aligned with JCAH standards
- Provide mentorship to junior nursing staff through clinical guidance and training
- Maintain accurate electronic health records with detailed triage documentation
- Collaborate with community emergency services for seamless patient transitions
Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license with 5+ years emergency department experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Master's degree in Nursing or relevant specialization preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in EHR systems (Epic/Cerner)
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Experience leading interdisciplinary emergency response teams
- Proven ability to maintain composure in high-stress trauma scenarios
- Strong knowledge of Alaska-specific healthcare protocols and indigenous health needs
