Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments using Emergency Severity Index (ESI) protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient prioritization during high-volume periods
- Provide telephone triage services for 500+ daily patient inquiries
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists on complex cases
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EHR systems
- Train new triage staff on department protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Louisiana (required)
- 5+ years ER or critical care experience
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Triage Nurse Certification
- BSN or higher preferred
- Expertise in ESI protocols and emergency protocols
- Exceptional communication and decision-making skills
- Experience with Epic EHR systems
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
