Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments and prioritize emergency cases using ESI protocols
- Oversee triage team operations and mentor junior nursing staff
- Develop/improve departmental triage protocols and documentation standards
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists on critical patient disposition decisions
- Monitor departmental flow metrics and implement process improvements
- Participate in emergency response drills and quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- BSN required; MSN or Emergency Nurse Certification (CEN) strongly preferred
- 5+ years of emergency department experience with 2+ years in triage role
- Current Minnesota RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications
- Demonstrated expertise in ESI triage scale and emergency protocols
- Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring nursing teams
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
