Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescriptions accurately and efficiently, verifying all details for patient safety.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the compounding of medications and the processing of medication history requests.
- Maintain inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and manage pharmacy supplies and expiration dates.
- Provide superior customer service by answering patient inquiries, processing insurance claims, and resolving billing issues.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and DEA guidelines.
- Process returns and exchanges, ensuring proper documentation and sanitation of returned items.
- Operate pharmacy equipment, including automated dispensing machines and computer systems.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician.
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new pharmacy software systems quickly.
- CPR/BLS certification is a plus.
