Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs to ensure a smooth operation and optimal patient safety.
- Instrumentation: Set up and maintain sterile instruments and supplies, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
- Field Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the sterile field, passing instruments and sponges efficiently to support the surgical team.
- Prep & Closure: Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and assist in wound closure according to established standards.
- Documentation: Accurately complete surgical counts and patient records to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or (CNA) certification required.
- Licensure: Current California Surgical Technician license.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of operating room experience preferred.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (ACLS preferred).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and anatomy.
