Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases based on clinical judgment and established protocols
- Obtain accurate medical histories, vital signs, and chief complaints to determine treatment urgency
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient flow
- Document patient encounters meticulously in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Provide education to patients and families regarding emergency care processes and resources
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and emergency drills
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of California
- Minimum 3 years of emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong triage assessment skills with ability to make critical decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in diverse environments
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EHR platforms
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with relevant experience considered)
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and efficient during high-stress situations
