Responsibilities
- Dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision with 99.9% accuracy
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, stocking, and rotation
- Process insurance claims and resolve billing discrepancies efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and health best practices
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for IV medications and chemotherapy
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell) for prescription processing
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license required
- PTCB or ExCPT certification preferred (training available)
- High school diploma or equivalent (college science coursework a plus)
- Proficiency with pharmacy technology and inventory systems
- Exceptional attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced pharmacy settings
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA compliance and pharmacy regulations
