Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sutures.
- Maintain a sterile field to prevent infections and cross-contamination.
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure nothing is left behind.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment for use in surgery.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
