Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient vital signs during surgery and provide post-operative care instructions.
- Label surgical specimens accurately and handle surgical waste according to regulations.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent manual dexterity, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
