Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments before procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them correctly
- Operate sterilization equipment and manage inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
