Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize surgical equipment according to hospital protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Monitor sterile fields and maintain equipment functionality
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments pre/post-procedure
- Operate specialized surgical technology (robotics, endoscopic systems)
- Document equipment maintenance and sterilization records
- Train on new surgical technologies as implemented
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience
- Proficiency with advanced surgical equipment (robotics, endoscopic)
- BLS certification and surgical instrument knowledge
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments
- Strong attention to detail and sterile technique adherence
- New Jersey surgical tech license
