Responsibilities
- Operative Assistance: Function as a scrub tech, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and providing assistance throughout surgical procedures.
- Equipment Management: Handle, sterilize, and arrange all surgical instruments and equipment with precision and care.
- OR Preparation: Ensure the operating room is fully stocked, sterile, and set up correctly for every case.
- Patient Care: Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient information and surgical counts as required by regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of recent experience in an acute care hospital or surgical center.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern laparoscopic, robotic, and open surgical equipment.
- Licensure: Valid Kentucky nursing or surgical technician license.
