Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor and manage the operating room environment, including lighting and equipment functionality.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
