Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields according to AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures with precise instrument handling
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case flow
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization processes
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety audits
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in general surgery or specialty OR
- BLS/CPR certification with current ACLS preferred
- Proven expertise in sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail and situational awareness
