Responsibilities
- Assist in Surgical Procedures: Anticipate surgeon needs and provide the necessary instruments and supplies during operations with precision.
- Maintain Sterile Field: Strictly adhere to aseptic techniques and sterile processing protocols to ensure patient safety and infection control.
- Preparation & Cleanup: Set up operating rooms with equipment and instruments before procedures and ensure thorough cleaning and turnover after surgeries.
- Equipment Management: Monitor and maintain surgical equipment, ensuring all tools are functioning correctly and sterilized.
- Patient Safety: Monitor patient vitals during procedures and assist in maintaining a safe, organized environment.
- Documentation: Accurately log surgical counts and other necessary documentation as required by hospital policy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) credential required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow complex instructions.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and ability to remain calm under pressure.
