Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
- Properly handle and dispose of specimens and hazardous materials according to safety protocols.
- Arrange sterile supplies and equipment based on the surgeon's preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of surgeries and patient data.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure in fast-paced environments.
