Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is sterilized and functioning correctly.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies promptly and accurately.
- Monitor and maintain sterile environments to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Collect and prepare tissue specimens for pathology and transport samples to the lab.
- Document surgical procedures and patient information accurately in medical records.
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and order necessary items as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
