Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during surgical procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and ensure a sterile environment.
- Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
- Adjust lighting and operating room equipment as needed.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Follow strict aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- 1-3 years of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
