Responsibilities
- Preparation: Assist in preparing operating rooms and sterilizing equipment prior to surgery.
- Assistance: Provide crucial support to surgeons during procedures, passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
- Patient Care: Ensure patient safety and comfort by adhering to strict protocols.
- Documentation: Accurately record medical information and inventory counts.
- Sanitation: Perform proper cleaning and disinfecting of surgical instruments and trays.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification of Surgical First Assistant (CSFA).
- Licensure: Active RN or Surgical Tech license required in Virginia.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in aseptic technique and strong knowledge of surgical procedures.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
