Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during procedures including instrument passing, sponge/needle counts, and sterile field maintenance
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Transport patients to surgical suites and position them correctly for procedures
- Manage sterile supplies and inventory in surgical suites
- Adhere to OSHA, AORN, and hospital safety protocols
- Document surgical cases accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary (training provided)
- Basic computer skills and ability to lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
- Valid BLS certification required (will be provided during training)
- Pass background check and pre-employment health screening
